In 2022 Solido organized the Big Car Show for its 90th anniversary. At the same time, they developed a first in the history of the brand, a 1/1 scale project car. This car, developed in collaboration with Flat56 and Khyzyl Saleem has become a reality. It is now available in miniature at 1/18th scale. This is the opportunity to learn more about this model.
The genesis of the KSR project
On the occasion of its 90th anniversary and the launch of the “Big Car Show”, Solido unveiled a bold project orchestrated by Frédérick Guillier, his team and his partners: creating a 1/1 scale car from scratch! A first for the Breton model car manufacturer, accustomed to reducing real cars into scale models.
Like the big names in car preparation ( RWB , Brabus, Prior Design, etc.), Solido started from an existing model. Thus, a Porsche 911 SC, found in poor condition in a barn, was chosen to serve as the basis for this unique project. The Solido team then set about designing and assembling this extraordinary vehicle with its partners.
A fruitful association for a challenge completed in record time!
For the design, the Josselin company called on Khyzyl Saleem. He is a famous British car designer known for his creations in Need For Speed and on social networks. Local companies, including Flat56, a Porsche specialist, also provided their expertise to help complete this project within a very tight deadline.
